United States of America (Press Release) June 2, 2009 -- (New York, NY) – June 2, 2009, Underground rap beast, ESSO, is ready to take things to the next level. The lyrical graduation that he has encountered in the past year has him well on his way to enormity. His latest EP, "Lifestyles of the Young and Ignorant," gave fans and non-believing watchers a taste of what's to come in his upcoming album, “Evolved”, tentatively scheduled to release at the end of 2009. The growth that has remixed ESSO's content and sound will be on display via two upcoming projects in 2009 and Flight School is the perfect launching pad for ESSO's summer endeavors.
Since releasing ESSOcentric in October of 2006, and the follow-ups ESSObama: The Champagne Campaign, and E3: E-Day, ESSO has quickly become one of the most well known independent artists in New York City. Named “Unsigned Hype” by The Source magazine in December of 2006, ESSO has also made appearances on BET’s Rap City and MTV’s Sucker Free: Straight from the Streets, SHADE45 (Sirius Satellite Radio), XM Raw 66 (XM Satellite Radio), various College Radio shows throughout New York State and was reviewed twice SCRATCH Magazine to critical acclaim. He has also performed across the country in New York, Las Vegas and Washington DC, played at CMJ in 2008 and South By Southwest for the first time in 2009.
ESSO’s recent, spontaneous rendition of the tune, "Flight School", inspired director Joe Puma to create a simple, yet classic, concept for the song. The two teamed up to film and edit the super cool and fresh video. The creative array of scenes and animation in the piece intensifies the message brought through ESSO’s song. “Flight School” debuting is the foreshadowing of things to come from the Harlem bred artist in the near future.
