EXCLUSIVE: BEHIND THE SCENES OF ROCAWEAR’S PSA FOR HAITI

The Program, LLC and Rocawear teamed up to create a special PSA for Haiti. We shot the last part of the piece this Tuesday. When my producer Jasmine came to me with the idea, I was onboard without question. We had an amazing turnout and I was moved by all the support we had on this project. Jasmine blogged in greater detail about the Rocawear PSA for Haiti and has some pictures of the shoot. You can check that out over here.

I would like to thank Rocawear, Martine Cauthen and everyone who came out to support this project.

Fes Taylor feat. Don Baker & Selecta Rhymes - Get with The Program

Fes Taylor and the homie Don Baker (cheaaaa), came thru to the studio and laced me up with nice joint for The Program. My homie Selecta Rhymes got a chance to jump on the track as well. Enjoy and Get with The Program!

We also recorded another joint off Drakes - Fear Instrumental which is the same Instrumental I used for my 2009 Reel. That beat really moves people.

The Program, LLC Presents Fes Taylor featuring Inspectah Deck - The Streets

Fes Taylor featuring Inspectah Deck - The Streets from The|Program, LLC on Vimeo.

A few weeks ago, one of my homies was talking with Fes Taylor about doing a video off his Flight 10304 album. This official debut is co-signed by Wu-Tang legend Inspectah Deck and features the Rebel INS himself, Shyheim, Mr. Prezident, Lot-A-Nerv, T-Bird and many more. We went with 'The Streets' because I felt it would represent where Fes is from the best; Staten Island and the hustle and grind that exists in some of the toughest areas on Staten Island. I also loved the Gangs of New York sample in the beginning. Inspectah Deck comes in on the second verse and is kicking back in the VIP area. I created a dramatic sequence after Fes's verse to build some momentum in the video. We shot the video in Notes Lounge on Staten Island which is in the Stapleton area. I believe there be a party celebrating the video release at Notes Lounge on 11/20/09. I will post the flyer and details as soon I get it. Enjoy!

Joe Puma's Directors Reel 2009

I spent a little bit of last week and the weekend cutting my first reel. Shouts to the TheFlyGirl at http://www.flystylelife.com/. I had a decent first year working on music videos from the projects with Scenario to my own directed videos. I chose the Drake instrumental to "Fear". I think its a well fitting track to my frame of mind and a word of caution to the world....Fear me! ha

ESSO - Dont Stop (Video)

ESSO "Dont Stop" from Puma, TheProgram, LLC on Vimeo.

The|Program, LLC and the whole Y&I Team are pleased to present you with the video to ESSO's "Dont Stop", which is the first single off his "Off the Wall" mixtape. I cannot tell you how much of an honor it was to work ESSO and the Y&I team on this project. Between the start of the project and then MJ's untimely death, this project was one emotional roller coaster ride. At some points, I just didn't know how to feel...One week, I'm researching and celebrating all his past work and the next week the world is mourning his death. In the end I think we all did a wonderful job even the late Michael Jackson would appreciate. Please enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it.

ESSO Looks To Take Off In “Flight School”

By Olivia Baltimore United States of America Contact publisher via email
Art & Entertainment: Music June 2, 2009 Hip Hop's Lyrical Refreshment Debuts His Newest Video

For_Immediate_Release:

United States of America (Press Release) June 2, 2009 -- (New York, NY) – June 2, 2009, Underground rap beast, ESSO, is ready to take things to the next level. The lyrical graduation that he has encountered in the past year has him well on his way to enormity. His latest EP, "Lifestyles of the Young and Ignorant," gave fans and non-believing watchers a taste of what's to come in his upcoming album, “Evolved”, tentatively scheduled to release at the end of 2009. The growth that has remixed ESSO's content and sound will be on display via two upcoming projects in 2009 and Flight School is the perfect launching pad for ESSO's summer endeavors.

Since releasing ESSOcentric in October of 2006, and the follow-ups ESSObama: The Champagne Campaign, and E3: E-Day, ESSO has quickly become one of the most well known independent artists in New York City. Named “Unsigned Hype” by The Source magazine in December of 2006, ESSO has also made appearances on BET’s Rap City and MTV’s Sucker Free: Straight from the Streets, SHADE45 (Sirius Satellite Radio), XM Raw 66 (XM Satellite Radio), various College Radio shows throughout New York State and was reviewed twice SCRATCH Magazine to critical acclaim. He has also performed across the country in New York, Las Vegas and Washington DC, played at CMJ in 2008 and South By Southwest for the first time in 2009.

ESSO’s recent, spontaneous rendition of the tune, "Flight School", inspired director Joe Puma to create a simple, yet classic, concept for the song. The two teamed up to film and edit the super cool and fresh video. The creative array of scenes and animation in the piece intensifies the message brought through ESSO’s song. “Flight School” debuting is the foreshadowing of things to come from the Harlem bred artist in the near future.

ABOUT ESSO
By definition, Evolution is change in the inherited traits of a population from one generation to the next. These changes are caused by a combination of three main processes: variation, reproduction, and selection. When referring to ESSO, the Theory of Evolution is at the heart of where he stands right now, and a major influence in the direction of how he expresses himself musically. “Everybody wants to bring New York back. I want to be one of the people at the forefront of moving New York forward” he says unapologetically, signaling a deliberate desire to carve his own niche and blaze his own trail.

ABOUT EMMI AGENCY
Emmi Agency is an elite public relations firm that concentrates on the product placement and exposure of innovative ideas and designs. It sets up marketing movements that expand the knowledge, demand and emulation of each of their clients’ brand.

ABOUT PUMA
A product of the same borough that bred icons like Biggie and Jay-Z, the Brooklyn raised video producer/engineer (Puma) is most noted for his ability to transform regular videos into 3D works of art. Through his relationship with his business partner, “Scenario,” Puma has assisted in creatively bringing to life
the visions of artists Juelz Santana, Nina B, EPMD, Lil Cease, as well as his own projects with Freck the Billionaire, Nina B, NGP and a host of others. The past two decades have ushered in an era of visualizations and dimensions previously explored only by Hype Williams, Little X, and many others. With a recession in progress, timing and budgeting is key – the ability to master a skill and outfitting it to each project is the goal. With the decline in record sales and uncertainty in the future of Hip-Hop, Puma clearly sees the place for power and refinement and is ready to focus his time and energy on creating classic & timeless music and videos for a worldwide audience. All this to say on a stage, in front of a camera, or in the studio - Puma is among the new wave of producers that has done it all. It only gets better. CUT!
